Dear Diary,
Welcome to the tropics of Jamaica! We have finally arrived after flights cross-country from west to east coast America and south to the glorious tropical island in the Caribbean. This is our first trip as a couple and our first time this way on a romantic get away. My are we in for an adventure.
The moment we stepped off the plane and left the airport, we felt a wave of change in the culture and lifestyle from which we are familiar with. There is so much to explore here in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Sunscape Cove Resort
We spent the first 5 days here at the Sunscape Cove Resort. At the grand entrance were carts with the words “Butler Service” etched in pretty cursive, ready to shuttle us around the resort. We were greeted with a warm welcome from Jamaican gentlemen who also provided a complimentary tropical fruit drink… It may have been a little spiked with the local rum.
My eyes took in the scenery and the beach inspired decor of the place from the classic wooden ceilings to the perfectly arranged courtyard with green palm trees swaying from side to side. I felt the the warm tropical breeze just reel us in together immediately as we excitedly looked ahead for our stay here.

I looked up at the ceiling in the room we were in as the fans were running to keep the room cool. I was taking in every detail in awe of how how different and special this was to what I am used to back home.

Now this is the part where my breath was taken away...β‘

We spent mornings, days, and evenings at the beach under straw hut umbrellas and comfy beach chairs

Great Rose Hall
just being tourists at one of the island’s attractions… supposedly, no pictures were allowed

Countryside Horseback Riding
This was my favorite day of all.. horseback riding with my love in the country side

Parasailing over Montego Bay
The best views of Montego Bay were from this parasailing ride.. I wish I had my phone to take pictures and video, but alas, I left it on board the vessel to keep it safe

Good Hope Retreat
Our final days, we stayed outside of Montego Bay.. we found this place on Air BNB and it was absolutely incredible. We were in the middle of the tropical jungle

Streets of Jamaica
The even had Starbucks here! We met this journalist who was writing an news article for the Jamaican newspaper who wanted to feature us since we were from Seattle.. so funny to have run into that man. So here we were..
