Dear Diary,
I am easing into the start of this autumn season with a cozy, simple, and warm apple cider. This cup of goodness made my evening as I sipped it away, along with the creamy whipped topping and sweet cinnamon sprinkled on top. How delicious! This is the flavor of fall. 🍂
Although this cider was not the healthiest apple cider drink of all, it still brought me warm, fuzzies, and joy. I did a little research and discover there’s bits of vitamin C in this drink. The calorie count would be lower than the comparable Starbucks Caramel Apple Latte, standing at a ratio of 160:380 calories for a 16 fl. oz. drink. Plus, this would be healthier than a typical alcoholic beverage. So isn’t that enough of a healthy dose needed by all? Having this treat is also mental health boost indeed.
Alpine Spiced Cider Apple Flavor Original Drink Mix, 120 Pouches
Simple Warm Apple Cider
Ingredients
1 package of Alpine Spice Apple Cider
boiling water
whipped cream
cinnamon
Instructions
Boil water. Add package of Alpine Spiced Apple Cider to cup. Stir together. Add mountains of whipped cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Sip away!
Hopefully in this upcoming fall, I’ll get to experiment more beverage recipes. These seasonally colder mornings and nights would really benefit from some warm ones. Creative juices are already flowing with ideas of pumpkin spice, healthy apple cider, and other hot smoothies on my mind. I’m so excited for falll y’all 🍂
🍂🍂🍂 Until next time 🍂🍂🍂🍂

Dear Diary,
It’s been a minute since my last Thirsty Thursday! I wasn’t feeling well the last week or so (hence the lack of a dedicated post last week). But as the tradition goes, I am back at it. So sad to say, that due to not feeling so great, I didn’t get very creative with my special Thursday feature. Instead, I opted for something light, super simple, and easy on myself.
Lemon Honey Cayenne Pepper Water
Ingredients
1 cup of distilled water
2-3 slices of lemon
1 Tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
4 cubes of ice
Instructions
Add ingredients to cup. Stir together. Enjoy.
Turns out, this drink is great for the body. I found most of these facts on this helpful website, but my favorites have been included below:
● aids in digestion
● the cayenne pepper soothes gastrointestinal tract, helping upset stomaches
● keeps skin healthy with the vitamin C
● defends against bacteria
● so many antioxidants from honey, lemon, cayenne pepper
● relieves headaches
There are so many great benefits! I think I need a few more refills of this stuff! *Cheers*

Dear Diary,
Let’s give a warm welcome to September….yep, I said September. My entire existence can hardly believe we have transitioned into the 9th month of 2020, whoa. And to that end, I dedicated today’s Thirsty Thursday to focus on a popular crop of this time of year — corn!
The full and oh so lovely glowing full “Corn” moon earlier in the week inspired me to feature this slurpy and delicious soup today. Also, my love got his wisdom teeth pulled out so he was limited to what he could eat, which made this an ideal dish considering his dietary concerns. Not to mention, these Thirsty Thursday’s I often crave more than a refreshing smoothie of sorts, so this allowed me to eat more. Gotta love that ;P But anyways, what a fun recipe to make. The photo and recipe to follow below!
Cream of Corn Soup
Ingredients
1 can of creamed corn
1 cup of real white corn kernels
6 cups of chicken stock
1 cup of whipping cream
4 cloves of garlic
1/3 cup of coconut oil
1 poblano green pepper
1/4 cup of cream cheese
1 tablespoon of garlic salt
1 tablespoon of onion powder
1/4 of an onion
Garnishing
a dash of cilantro for garnishing
1 cup of corn tortilla chips for texture
1 teaspoon of parmesan cheese
Instructions
Mince garlic. Dice poblano pepper. Chop onion. Place all three ingredients into pot with coconut oil and sauté on low heat. Add onion powder to mixture and continue mixing. Add corn. Add chicken stock slowly while using the Cuisine Art hand mixer to create a puree soup texture. Once soup is puréed, mix in heavy whipping cream and cream cheese. Bring soup to a boil, then reduce heat. Add garnishes and serve.
My love and I totally enjoyed this delicious creamy corn soup. The corn was sweet with subtle hints of savory. How fitting for the upcoming fall season!
Bon appétit!

Dear Diary,
It’s Thirsty Thursday once more and for old time sake, I opted for one of my favorite drinks, The Virgin Mary. I have been drinking Virgin Marys, rimmed with lime and salt, topped with olives, and a splash of Tabasco sauce since I was a kiddo! Things haven’y changed much. I still love myself a Virgin Mary drink! It is healthier than the alcohol version, but slightly on the salty side so drinker beware.
Instead of blending my own drinks at home today, I took a break from creating and took a stroll to with my love to Stanley and Seafort’s. This steak, chop, and fish house is one of my favorite restaurant chains that I’ve been going to for years and years. It was nice to be at another Seafort’s restaurant again.
Below are photos of my Thirsty Thursday, featuring Stanley & Seafort’s Virgin Bloody Mary.
Cheers ♡

Dear Diary,
As promised, today is Thirsty Thursday and I am off blending and juicing up a storm in the kitchen. Every week until the end of 2020 (excluding Thanksgiving), I will be juicing and blending fruits and vegetables in a personal challenge to be healthier. This Thirsty Thursday is a little extra special because my love is joining in on all the fun, in which I’ll be preparing us a healthy menu for two.
My love has been off on a commercial fishing vessel most of summer yet. Given the circumstances of working on a boat, he often lacks the luxury of fresh ingredients such as fruits and veggies on board. Because he has been without vitamins and mineral nutrients found in leafy greens and other fruits, I think its high time that we supercharge him with healthy juices from today’s Thirsty Thursday.
Juicing For Two Menu
Below is our specially created menu to last through this Thirsty Thursday
Breakfast
Peach Perfect Smoothie
Afternoon
Spicy Carrot Shot
Lemon Ginger Water
Lunch
Garlic Edamame
Blueberry Peanut Butter Green Machine
Lavender Lemonade
Dinner
Buffalo Chicken Salad
Super Green Spritzer
Bed Time
Chamomile Lavender Milk Tea

Bon appétit & Happy Thirsty Thursday

Dear Diary,
I have been wanting to drink up the rest of my watermelon juice since obsessing over Harry Styles’ hit song, Watermelon Sugar. Reason why I have not consumed my giant watermelon completely is because there was too much of it for one person. I tried to eat it all up one day, but became overwhelmed; It is unbelievable how much watermelon and juice there was! But with this timely start up of Thirsty Thursdays, I am using the remaining juice to my big ol’ fruit to make this mouthwatering concoction, the Healthyish Watermelon Margarita. Recipe and photo to follow.
Healthyish Watermelon Margarita
Ingredients
4 cups of fresh watermelon
1 cup of distilled water
1 wedge of lemon
1 tablespoon of Tajin Spice Mix
1 cup of ice
Instructions
Place fruit into your juicer. After juice is extracted, add water to fresh watermelon juice. Rim a glass with Tajin. Serve over ice. Sprinkle Tajin as desired.
Until next Thursday… I’ll be planning a breakfast, snack, lunch, and dinner Thirsty Thursday special for two!

Dear Diary,
Back while I was attending university, there used to be a thing us gals would do on Thursdays. Because classes were seldom held on Fridays, our Thursdays were treated like our Fridays, so we celebrated the end of the study week with a night on the town, as we would call them — Thirsty Thursdays. Now that I am a little older and wiser, I thought of a new spin on this Thirsty Thursday. Instead of spending nights downtown with the gals, my tastes in life have changed into something perhaps more healthy and nutritious.
Since I am thirsting for an opportunity to get back into juicing again since my Juiciest June, (which you can read all about it here), let this be new thing of mine. Every Thursday until the end of this year 2020 (except Thanksgiving), I will feature a Thirsty Thursday drink I made at home.
To kick it off, this is my first toast to Thirsty Thursdays!
Veggie Apple Juice
Ingredients
1/3 cup of wheat grass (chopped)
1 cup of apples
1 stick of celery
1/3 cup of garden greens & spinach
1/4 of a lemon
1/4 of a tomato
1 finger size of ginger
Instructions
Place vegetable, fruit, and herb items into your juicer. After juice is extracted, chill the juice. Serve.
This was a sour and tangly vegetable blend which was exactly what I was in the mood for! That’s it for now. Cheers!
