Little Escape to the Keys

November 20, 2021

Dear Diary,

Last year, we needed a winter escape so took a little trip down to the Florida Keys. Oh, it was so warm here and just writing this makes me want to return to the tropics!

Timing this mini-vacation was very challenging. The first time we were scheduled to travel, we came down with COVID-19 and the second time we postponed our travels, it was because of other severe hurricane storms and such happening in the area…Yikes! One major piece of advice I’d say, is check the weather for upcoming seasonal storms. Also keep in mind that on some days when the weather called for rain, often times the weather system would quickly pass and the sun would shine again.

All that being said, at last we did eventually make it to the Keys and enjoyed the southern most islands down yonder very much. Here is a little bit on our time in what they call the Conch Republic!

The best mode of transportation included bikes, a golf cart, or convertible vehicle! We did walk a bit, but these wheels helped us enjoy more attractions.

It has only been a year since we were here. Looking back on photos makes me really miss the lovely Keys!! Although we breezed through a long list of things to see and do, there is still so much left to explore. I am ready for more. Until next time!
